Price a bottle of wine or whisky from a photo.

Worth reads the label the way a cellar book records it: producer, wine, vintage and size. Then it asks about the two things a label cannot show, how full the bottle is and how it has been kept.

What Worth settles, in order

  1. Producer and vintage
  2. Fill level
  3. Storage
  4. Capsule and cork
  5. Provenance and original case

There is no screenshot on this page because we have not photographed a bottle for one yet, and we would rather show nothing than draw a result.

What Worth reads from the photo.

Producer and wine
Or the distillery and the expression, read from the label.
Vintage or age statement
The year on the label or the neck, or the age on a bottle of whisky.
Bottle size
A half bottle, a standard bottle or a magnum, where the photo makes the scale clear.
Label and capsule
Stains, tears and damage to the capsule, as far as they are in view.

What a collector checks next.

Each answer names the one thing that would move the estimate most. Tap a quick answer, type a line, or take the follow-up photo: the price is worked out again the moment it is taken.

  1. Producer and vintage

They are the identity of the bottle. A year either side can be a different wine.

Show WorthMake sure the vintage is in frame. It is often on the neck label.

  2. Fill level

The gap under the cork is the best outside clue to how the wine has kept.

Show WorthA photo of the neck and shoulder, held against the light.

  3. Storage

A bottle kept cool, dark and on its side is worth more than the same bottle from a kitchen shelf.

Show WorthSay how it was kept: “professional storage since release”.

  4. Capsule and cork

A stained label is cosmetic. A raised cork or signs of seepage are not.

Show WorthA close photo of the top of the bottle.

  5. Provenance and original case

Receipts, an original wooden case and a known chain of owners support the top of a range.

Show WorthAdd the detail, or photograph the case.

Questions.

Can it price spirits as well as wine?
Yes. Whisky, cognac, rum and other bottles are read the same way, from the label, with the fill level and the seal as the follow-up questions.
Does it know how the bottle was stored?
No, and it says so. Storage is the largest thing a photo cannot show. Tell Worth how the bottle was kept and the estimate moves.
Can it price a whole cellar?
One bottle at a time gives the best answer. Every scan is kept in your history, so a cellar becomes a list you can scroll back through.
Is Worth free?
Free to start: three scans a day, each with live prices, no account. Worth Pro is an optional subscription for forty scans a day and export.
