Privacy
Worth prices things from photos. To do that it has to see the photo, and it keeps what it sees so the next price is better. This page says exactly what that means.

The short version
- Photos you scan are uploaded to our server and stored, to measure and improve pricing.
- There is no account. We never ask for your name, your email or your contacts.
- Your device identifier and IP address are stored only as salted hashes, never as the raw values.
- There is no advertising and no ad tracking in the app.
- Photos contain whatever the camera was pointed at. Don’t scan anything you wouldn’t be comfortable sharing.
What the app sends, and what we keep
Photos
When you price something, the photo is uploaded to the Worth server. The server stores the photo as uploaded, along with the answer it produced. If you add a second photo to sharpen a price, that photo is uploaded and stored the same way.
The answer
With each photo we store the name, category, price range, confidence and reasoning that came back, how long it took, and any market lookup made for it.
Your feedback
If you tap thumbs up or thumbs down, tell us what something is actually worth, add a note, or add a fact to sharpen a price, that is stored with the scan it belongs to. Corrections are used to improve later prices for the same item, including prices shown to other people. They see the adjusted price and a line such as “Adjusted for an owner’s correction”. They do not see who made the correction.
A little about how the app is used
The app reports how long a scan took on your phone, and whether you bookmarked, shared or retook it. That is stored with the scan too.
Identifiers
The app sends the identifier Apple gives it for your device (Apple’s “identifier for vendor”, which other companies’ apps cannot see) and its own version number. The server also sees the IP address the request came from. Before anything is stored, the device identifier and the IP address are each turned into a salted hash. The raw values are not written to the archive. The hashes let us tell that two scans came from the same phone, which is how “one voice per phone” works, and let us limit abuse.
Worth Pro
If you subscribe, the app sends Apple’s signed transaction so the server can check that Worth Pro is current. The server checks the signature and does not write the transaction into the archive. Apple charges your Apple ID. Worth never sees a card number.
What stays on your phone
Your history and bookmarks live on your phone, in the app’s own storage. Deleting a scan from your history removes it from your phone. It does not remove the copy on our server.
Who else sees what
- The pricing model. To produce a price, our server sends your photo to an AI model run by a third-party provider. Every scan then looks up current asking prices. That lookup is a web search for the item’s name, new and used. The photo is not sent to the stores or marketplaces in the results.
- Stores and maps. A listing row opens that page outside the app. A Maps row opens when the answer named a kind of place. Some listing links may carry a referral tag when one is configured. What happens on the other side is covered by that service’s own policy. Worth never asks for your location, and the photo is not included in those links.
- Apple. The app is distributed through the App Store, and Worth Pro is billed by Apple, which has its own data practices.
The archive is not sold, and it is not used for advertising.
What we don’t collect
- No account, name, email address or phone number.
- No payment card number. Subscriptions are handled by Apple.
- No contacts.
- No location.
- No advertising identifiers and no third-party analytics or advertising code.
Be careful what you photograph
A photo can contain faces, house numbers, licence plates, documents and screens. We do not blur or remove any of that. Whatever is in the frame is uploaded and stored, so frame the item and leave the rest out.
Keeping and deleting
Scans are kept so pricing can be measured and improved, and there is no fixed period after which they are removed. Because there is no account, the app has no way yet to show you what the server holds or to delete it from there. We would rather say that plainly than promise a control that doesn’t exist.
This website
This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics, trackers or third-party scripts. Its fonts and images are served from the site itself. Like any website, the company hosting it may keep ordinary server logs.
Changes
When Worth changes what it collects or how it is used, this page changes with it, and the date at the top moves.
